Yamato (やまと Yamato?) is a boss from Taito's Darius series of games that appears in Bubble Symphony.

Background[]
Yamato is a battleship created by the mysterious army known as Belsar, and was sent out along with the rest of the army's fleet to eliminate the survivors who escaped the destruction of the planet Darius. It first appeared as the boss of Zone K and Zone M in Darius II, and was destroyed by the Silver Hawk squadron.
Yamato was originally created as a boss for the first Darius game, under the name My Home Daddy (マイホームダディ Mai Hōmu Dadi?), and was equipped with a green shell around its torso. However, it ended up going unused, with the boss later being repurposed for Darius II and given a new name and design. The boss appears under its original name and design in Super Darius, an expanded port of the original game for the PC Engine CD-ROM², serving as the boss of Zone G, Zone P, and Zone T.

Yamato appears in Bubble Symphony as the boss of Sun "A" Zone, the game's Darius-themed world.
