The Ring (リング Ringu?) is a recurring type of item in the Bubble Bobble series. When obtained, a Ring allows the player to gain points every time they perform a certain action in the game, with the specific action depending on the type of ring collected. There are three main types that appear in most games; the Crystal Ring (クリスタルリング Kurisutaru Ringu?), which gives the player points for every step they take, the Amethyst Ring (アメジストリング Amejisuto Ringu?), which gives the player points for every time they jump, and the Ruby Ring (ルビーリング Rubī Ringu?), which gives players points every time they use their primary attack.
The Crystal Ring first appeared in the Taito arcade title The Fairyland Story, where it gave the player 1000 points for collecting it.
