Lamp

The Lamp (ランプ, Rampu^?) is a recurring type of item in the Bubble Bobble series. Lamps perform different types of effects depending on the title they appear in. In most appearances, they typically provide the player with effects of all three types of Candy or Ring for the current round, increasing their stats or the amount of points they earn.

Four types of Lamps appear in the series, each with their own effect; the Blue Lamp (ブルーランプ, Burū Ranpu^?) typically provides the player with the effects of the Crystal, Amethyst, and Ruby Rings, the Yellow Lamp (イエローランプ, Ierō Ranpu^?) typically provides the player with the effects of the Pink, Blue, and Yellow candies, and the Red Lamp (レッドランプ, Reddo Ranpu^?) typically provides the player with the effects of all three Rings and Candies at one. The outlier among the four is the Purple Lamp (パープルランプ, Pāpuru Ranpu^?), which instead acts as special item that creates an explosion of sacred fire, defeating all enemies in the round similar to the effects of the Book of Death or Star Tiara.

In Rainbow Islands, Parasol Stars, and Rainbow Islands Revolution, Lamps instead have a different effect, either changing the hidden food items present in the round to high-value ones, or spawning additional high-value food items.
