Ack'n Pop (あっくんＰＯＰ Akkun Poppu?)[1] is a recurring enemy in the Bubble Bobble series, modeled after Chack'n, the main charater of Chack'n Pop.
History[]
Parasol Stars[]
Ack'n Pop first appears in Parasol Stars, showing up in the game's final world, the Underworld. They attack by releasing bombs that explode into clouds of smoke, mirroring Chack'n's main form of attacking in Chack'n Pop.
Bubble Memories[]
Ack'n Pop reappears in Bubble Memories, behaving in a similar manner as their first appearance. Larger variants known as Big Ack'n Pop (デカあっくんＰＯＰ Deka Akkun Poppu?) also appear that are capable of releasing two bombs at once.
Space Bust-A-Move[]
Ack'n Pop makes a cameo in Space Bust-A-Move as part of the "Monster Bubbles" bubble set, serving as the motif of the yellow bubble.

Bubble Bobble Returns[]
Ack'n Pop appears as an enemy in the South Korea-exclusive Bubble Bobble Returns, alongside its larger variant from Bubble Memories.
Etymology[]
Ack'n Pop's name is a portmanteau of aku (悪?), meaning "evil", and Chack'n Pop.
Trivia[]
- Entering "TIM" in the high score table of Bubble Memories causes Ack'n Pop to appear with a different palette in-game on the next playthrough.
